Music Programs

Music has the power to transform lives and bring community together. The students at Hough School have an opportunity to learn music appreciation while making friends and building confidence in sharing their gifts. The Hough Choir practices twice a week after-school throughout the school year and performs several times a year at community events such as The Festival of Trees, local schools and at Hough School for a Winter and Spring showcase.

Hough Choir

The Hough Choir is Directed by Becky Miller.

“Our child has more confidence and pride in herself from being in Choir. Her teacher has seen a difference in the classroom.”

Hough Youth Escola de Samba (formerly Bateristas)

The Hough Bateristas are Directed by Miguel Lyons-Cavazos.

The Hough Youth Escola de Samba is a Brazilian-style percussion, drum & movement group for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Students learn the rhythms and sounds of primitive drum beats, percussion and choreographed movements to the music.  Most of all, they develop a love for music. Due to a generous donation from the Sleep Country Amphitheater Foundation, our Escola now has drums for 44 students!
